Oort Cloud

Thursday, March 27, 2014 Posted by Arun Vishwakarma , , 1 comment

At first  Oort Cloud ( not to be confused with Kuiper Belt ) was proposed by Dutch Astronomer Jan Oort in 1950. He said that certain comets come from a vast, very distant icy clouds surrounding the solar system. These clouds are known as Oort Cloud.

They ranges from 5,000 to 100,000 Astronomical Unit ( 1 Astronomical Unit is the mean distance between Earth and The Sun which is 150 million kilometers or 93 million miles).

Oort cloud consists of approximately 0.1 to 2 trillion small icy bodies which are weakly attracted by our Sun's gravitational force. Occasionally any star passing nearby disturbs their orbit and they fall into our solar system as a so-called long period comets.

Comets from Oort Cloud are of much importance as these clouds are formed along with the formation of our solar system. Analyzing them can reveal many secrets and answer many question.

Hello! There

This site belongs to Arun Vishwakarma and is the result of his own observations and analysis. This site doesn't uses any copyright material and if so then the acknowledgements were given as and when necessary. All the names and the core theories that are mentioned in any of the post is taken from different sources viz. Wikipedia, Google, etc. and except that the rest of the hypothesis and proposed theories are my own. All the concepts that are given in the posts are the brainchild of Arun and it is in no way criticize or prove other theories wrong rather it tries to define them using new concepts and provides new ideas to rethink them.
